How we helped a family farming business diversify and launch two further businesses, leading to an account with the Indian Royal Family and an award for Young Director of the Year Runner Up from the IOD.

“They’re very open minded and not averse to change and trying new things.”

When Stephen Kilby came into the family farming business, there was an immediate need to diversify and the farm started to produce Coldpressed Rapeseed Oil. Using the waste material from the husks, they then diversified into carbon neutral fuel, which eventually led to stoves. The business now supplies and fits these winter warmers in domestic properties but Stephen wanted something to keep him busy in the summer months. And so the bathroom business came into fruition and Not Just Numbers became in invaluable resource.

“Debbie was instrumental in setting the bathroom business up.”

From payroll to VAT to forecasts and financials, we helped with the practical side of this new venture whilst providing a good soundboard for Stephen and his partners to bounce ideas off.

“They have a really good personal touch. Nothing is too much trouble.”

After six months of being up and running, the mybathrooms brand is operating at an impressive rate with the Indian royal family already on the client list. The stoves business has continued to grow over the last four years, where we have incorporated existing software with Sage for increased productivity.
